The results of the competition are as follows: Question 1 During Dublin bus strikes in September 2016, Patricia Calan, head of the Small Firms Association, made a claim that Ireland “has the third highest paid city bus drivers in the EU.” Is this true or false? Answer True. Dublin Bus drivers were the third highest paid in the EU. (However, Dublin Bus drivers rank sixth in Europe. ) Question 2 In the run-up to the 2016 US Presidential Election how many times were false election stories shared on Facebook? Answer In the run-up to the US Presidential Election, false election stories received 8.7 million shares on Facebook in comparison to 7.3 million shares for real election stories.
