Catch an Early Train to All Aboard 2017 in Limerick this Saturday 1 April

Limerick Institute of Technology, Moylish and The Workbench, Bank of Ireland, Limerick are partnering with Limerick’s Festival of Lifelong  Learning by hosting two early bird events on this Saturday 1 April- a CoderDojo workshop (2-4pm @ LIT)  and a STEM Town event (1.30pm @ Workbench Bank of Ireland). Both events are being hosted under All Aboard 2017.

At the CoderDojo, young people will learn how to:

  • Code
  • Develop Websites
  • Develop Apps
  • Develop Programs
  • Develop Games and more

Bank of Ireland’s  STEM Town event explores uses of technology through:

  • Virtual Reality
  • Hololens
  • Leap motion sensor
  • 3DME
  • Robots
  • Vex Robotics
  • Drones

All Aboard 2017  is delighted to partner with the seventh Limerick Lifelong Learning Festival which will run right across Limerick City and County, from Saturday 1 April to Friday 7 April, 2017. It will feature an exciting line up of over 200 events, all of which are FREE and open to all.

The festival’s theme is ‘Communities, Connecting, Learning’. Learning is promoted as fun with events including performances, taster sessions, tours, displays, lectures, walks, demonstrations and workshops. They take place right across Limerick in a variety of venues indoors and out, including on water, and in libraries, museums, colleges, resource, family & community centres, parks, on the streets.

An initiative being co-run by The National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education and Ireland’s higher education institutions, All Aboard 2017 is a week-long (3-7 April 2017) series of national and regional public events designed to build confidence in Ireland’s digital skills for learning.
